The Big B is an inflatable vinyl fender from Taylor Made, 10 inches in diameter and 26 inches long, in Black Onyx. A rope tube runs through the centre, so a line can pass from end to end. The maker lists it for boats from 35 to 50 ft. Molded ribs cut down rolling, and the hole takes rope up to 5/8 inch. It is inflated through a rubber football needle valve.
Our take
The 3/4 inch center hole takes rope up to 5/8 inch, so one line is enough to hang this fender upright or on its side. With the rope passing end to end, it can lie along a piling when hung horizontally.

Polyform says to use at least three fenders when docking, and Taylor Made's rule of thumb is one for every 10 ft of waterline per side. Both makers hedge their size charts, so allow for your boat and where you moor.
