The Shurflo Aqua King II 4128-110-E04 is an automatic 12V fresh water pump rated at 30 PSI and 2 GPM, drawing 3.5 amps. It uses a four chamber design aimed at smooth flow across demand levels without rapid cycling. It is dry self-priming up to 6 feet and can run dry without damage. The motor and pressure switch are sealed in an E-coated housing, and it is ignition protected with a thermal breaker. Two swivel straight adapters, 1/2-14 NPT x 1/2 inch barb, are included, and it mounts on the same bracket as the Aqua King 2901.
Our take
The dry-run tolerance is the useful trait here: if the tank empties while someone is at the tap, the pump isn't damaged by it. At 2 GPM it is sized for one or two fixtures, so a bigger galley and heads setup would want a larger pump.
From our buying guide
Size a freshwater pump by the outlets that must run at once. Jabsco's rule of thumb is 1 GPM per outlet, and the listed flow is open flow, which falls as pressure rises.
Check before you buy:
- The data sheet shows flow at pressure. One Shurflo gives 4.0 GPM at 0 psi and 2.0 GPM at 40 psi.
- You have an inlet strainer, which Jabsco says is required in every freshwater pump installation.
- An accumulator suits the pump. Jabsco says one cuts cycling on a pressure-switch system, and not to use its accumulators with variable-speed pumps.
