This is a Raymarine thru-hull transducer, model E66085, in a bronze B60 housing with a 20 degree tilted element. It reads depth and temperature and works on two frequencies, 50 kHz and 200 kHz, at 600 watts. The tilt is meant for hulls with 16 to 24 degrees of deadrise. The maker lists fiberglass and wood as the compatible hull materials.
Our take
The 20 degree tilted element is made for hulls with 16 to 24 degrees of deadrise, so check your hull angle before anything else. Compatibility is stated only for fiberglass and wood hulls, so a hull of another material is not covered by that statement.
From our buying guide
Raymarine's general guidance is 200 kHz for water under about 60 m (200 ft) and 50 kHz for deep water. In-hull transducers avoid a hole, but lose performance and need a solid fiberglass bottom.
Check before you buy:
- The housing suits your hull. Airmar and Raymarine rule out plastic on a wood hull and bronze on a metal one.
- It connects to your display, since an analog transducer needs an interface.
- A through-hull will be fitted to the maker's guide. Garmin says its own should be installed by a qualified marine installer.
