The Raymarine E26030 is a thru hull depth transducer with a plastic housing and a 45 ft cable. It works at 200KHz with an output power of 250W and belongs to the ST60+/70/290 series. The core is removable and can be replaced. On hull material, plastic is the right choice for aluminum and fiberglass takes any transducer material, while a wood hull needs bronze instead.

Our take

The E26030's plastic housing is the right material for an aluminum hull, and fiberglass takes any material, so it covers both with 200KHz depth sounding at 250W. A wood hull needs bronze instead, so this is not the one for a wooden boat.

From our buying guide

Raymarine's general guidance is 200 kHz for water under about 60 m (200 ft) and 50 kHz for deep water. In-hull transducers avoid a hole, but lose performance and need a solid fiberglass bottom.

Check before you buy:

  • The housing suits your hull. Airmar and Raymarine rule out plastic on a wood hull and bronze on a metal one.
  • It connects to your display, since an analog transducer needs an interface.
  • A through-hull will be fitted to the maker's guide. Garmin says its own should be installed by a qualified marine installer.
