It is certified for power driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 feet) in length. That certification covers power driven vessels only.
Our take
The 2-pin plug-in base on this 42 inch pole means it drops into a socket, and the contacts are gold plated. It is certified only for power driven vessels under 20 meters, so confirm your boat fits that before relying on it.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
