This Perko Fig. 170 is a European style starboard navigation light in a black housing. It is USCG certified for sail or power vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft) in length. It mounts on a vertical surface and includes a 12 volt bulb. The range also comes with a chrome-plated brass top on a black plastic base, or in white plastic.
Our take
The certification for sail or power vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft) puts this starboard light on smaller boats. With a 12 volt bulb included, it is built around a 12 volt system.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
