This is Perko's replacement all-round pole light in the 24 inch length. It shows 360 degrees with a 2 nautical mile rating, and it is USCG certified for vessels under 65 ft (20 m). The pole is 3/4 inch anodized aluminum tube topped by a white translucent globe and black plastic cap. It is a Stow-A-Way plug-in type, with a 12 volt bulb included. Two locator screws and two collar styles come with it. The base is sold separately.
Our take
The 360 degree arc is the point of this light: a frosted globe shows all round, and the 24 inch pole keeps it compact. Bases are not included, so you need a socket on the boat that takes one of the two collars supplied.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
