This is Perko's replacement all-round pole light in the 36 inch length. It has a white translucent globe under a black polymer top, and the frosted globe is made to stay visible from every direction even when it is not held level. It is a plug-in Stow-A-Way type on a 3/4 inch anodized pole, and a 12 volt bulb is included. It is certified for sail or power vessels under 20 meters, or 65.6 ft. A locking collar and a large threaded collar let it fit several base styles.
Our take
The frosted globe is the useful part: it stays visible all round even when it isn't sitting level, so a pole that leans a little still shows a light. It plugs into an existing base, so check the collar fits yours before you swap it.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
