The NOCO Genius 2 is a compact direct-mount charger and maintainer for 6V and 12V batteries. It delivers 2A at 30W output and is rated for batteries up to 40Ah. It works with flooded, gel, AGM and maintenance-free lead-acid types, and has a lithium mode as well. An integrated thermal sensor adjusts the charge for cold and hot conditions. A force mode can bring back extremely dead batteries down to zero volts, and the unit can stay plugged in without overcharging. It mounts near the battery with a snap-fit bracket and self-tapping screws, and carries a 3-year warranty.
Our take
The 2A output and 40Ah rating mark this as a maintainer-class charger. On a boat that means keeping a starter or small house battery topped up over a long layup, with the built-in thermal sensor handling temperature swings, not recharging large banks quickly.
