The NOCO GEN5X3 is a three-bank onboard charger for 12V batteries, rated at 15A in total, or 5A per bank. Each bank is set on its own to 12V, 12V AGM, 12V Lithium or Repair mode, so lead-acid and lithium batteries can be charged from the same unit. It is sealed to IP68 and has an integrated thermal sensor that adjusts the charge to ambient temperature. It runs from 120-240V AC input, weighs 5.76 lbs and measures 7.1 x 5.7 x 2.2in. It can be mounted in any orientation, including upside down.
Our take
With 5A on each of three banks and a separate mode per bank, the GEN5X3 can charge a lithium house bank and an AGM starter battery side by side. Each bank gets a modest current, so large banks will take a while to recover.

NMMA says charging sources must meet the charging profile the battery maker recommends. A charger's presets are its own maker's, not the battery's, so set it from the battery maker's figures.
Check before you buy:
- It can follow your battery's profile, since not every charger can follow a lithium maker's.
- Its output suits your bank. ProMariner recommends about 10 percent of the batteries' total amp-hour capacity, with one charger output for each battery.
- It suits how you'll use it, since ProMariner says its waterproof chargers are for batteries not in use while charging.
