The Mustang Elite 28 is a front-entry inflatable PFD in black, certified by the USCG as Type III recreational. It uses a 24 gram CO2 cylinder and fits chests from 30 to 52 inches. Hydrostatic Inflator Technology inflates the vest automatically under water pressure, and a manual handle lets the wearer inflate it at any time. An indicator window shows green when it is ready, and an oral inflation tube is there as a backup. After any inflation it has to be inspected and re-armed.

The hydrostatic inflator fires the vest on water pressure, and a manual handle gives a second way to inflate, so you have both an automatic and a deliberate route to flotation. Check for green in the indicator window before each outing and re-arm it after any inflation.
