Our take
Rated 111 dB with a maximum draw of 4 amps at 12 volts, this horn gives you both figures to size the wiring and fuse against. With no rear enclosure, it goes in from the outside through a round hole and the grill covers it.
From our buying guide
A boat of 12 m or more must have a whistle, and one of 20 m or more a bell as well. Under 12 m it need not carry them, but must have some other means of making an efficient sound signal.
Check before you buy:
- You aren't comparing loudness across makers, since they measure it at different distances, or give no distance at all.
- You can mount a fixed horn facing forward and as high as possible, as Kahlenberg says to.
- You have any parts the maker leaves to you, such as a horn button and fuse.
