Our take
An IP68 rating and an anodized aluminum body give this stern light a sealed, corrosion-resistant build. Its rated vessel size starts at over 164 ft (50 m), so it is specified for large vessels, with a single LED giving 3NM visibility.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
