This is a heavy duty Johnson bilge pump rated at 1600 GPH. It runs on 24V DC and draws 3.5A. A removable check valve is built in, and the shaft and hardware are stainless steel. The motor uses double ball bearings, and the pump is built to ISO 8849 Marine and CE standards. Two screw-in outlet ports come with it, 1-1/8" and 1-1/4", so it can suit either hose size. The mounting base fits comparable Rule bases.

At 3.5A on 24V DC for 1600 GPH, this pump only suits a 24V system, so confirm your boat's voltage first. The removable check valve is built in, and automatic running means adding a separate float switch.

Rule and Johnson both say their bilge pumps are not intended for damage control. Flow falls as the discharge head rises, and the length of the hose, its bends and any check valve reduce it further.
Check before you buy:
- The maker's own table shows the flow at head, since how much a pump loses depends on the model.
- An automatic pump also has a manual switch, which ABYC's voluntary 2005 standard calls for.
