This is a Johnson Aqua Jet washdown kit built around a 5.2 GPM, 12V DC pump that produces 70 psi. Along with the pump you get a filter, a spray pistol, a bulkhead fitting, connectors and 25 ft of coiled hose. The pump has a five-chamber design, a built-in pressure switch that starts and stops it as the nozzle opens and closes, and thermal overload and ignition protection.
Our take
70 psi from a 5.2 GPM pump is the number that sets how hard the spray hits the deck. The built-in pressure switch means the pump runs only while the nozzle is open, and the kit comes with the hose, nozzle and fittings to go with it.

Size a freshwater pump by the outlets that must run at once. Jabsco's rule of thumb is 1 GPM per outlet, and the listed flow is open flow, which falls as pressure rises.
Check before you buy:
- The data sheet shows flow at pressure. One Shurflo gives 4.0 GPM at 0 psi and 2.0 GPM at 40 psi.
- You have an inlet strainer, which Jabsco says is required in every freshwater pump installation.
- An accumulator suits the pump. Jabsco says one cuts cycling on a pressure-switch system, and not to use its accumulators with variable-speed pumps.
