The Par-Max HD3 is a Jabsco freshwater delivery pump running on 12V DC, rated at 40 PSI with a flow of 3 GPM. A sealed pressure switch built into the pump gives on-demand operation, and an integrated bypass module reduces cycling for smoother flow. It primes itself and can run dry without damage. Size a freshwater pump by the outlets that must run at once. Jabsco's rule of thumb is 1 GPM per outlet, and the listed flow is open flow, which falls as pressure rises.
Check before you buy:
- The data sheet shows flow at pressure. One Shurflo gives 4.0 GPM at 0 psi and 2.0 GPM at 40 psi.
- You have an inlet strainer, which Jabsco says is required in every freshwater pump installation.
- An accumulator suits the pump. Jabsco says one cuts cycling on a pressure-switch system, and not to use its accumulators with variable-speed pumps.
