The Jabsco Par-Max 3 in this version is a 12V DC freshwater delivery pump rated at 3 GPM and 25 PSI. A co-molded diaphragm and sealed pressure switch let it run on demand, and it is self-priming. The plastic housing guards the motor against corrosion. The pump can run dry without damage, includes an integrated bypass module for smoother flow, and draws up to 5.2 amps.

Size a freshwater pump by the outlets that must run at once. Jabsco's rule of thumb is 1 GPM per outlet, and the listed flow is open flow, which falls as pressure rises.
Check before you buy:
- The data sheet shows flow at pressure. One Shurflo gives 4.0 GPM at 0 psi and 2.0 GPM at 40 psi.
- You have an inlet strainer, which Jabsco says is required in every freshwater pump installation.
- An accumulator suits the pump. Jabsco says one cuts cycling on a pressure-switch system, and not to use its accumulators with variable-speed pumps.
