The Jabsco Par-Max 2 is a freshwater delivery pump on 12V DC. It is self-priming, has a sealed pressure switch for on-demand running, and uses a co-molded diaphragm. Size a freshwater pump by the outlets that must run at once. Jabsco's rule of thumb is 1 GPM per outlet, and the listed flow is open flow, which falls as pressure rises.
Check before you buy:
- The data sheet shows flow at pressure. One Shurflo gives 4.0 GPM at 0 psi and 2.0 GPM at 40 psi.
- You have an inlet strainer, which Jabsco says is required in every freshwater pump installation.
- An accumulator suits the pump. Jabsco says one cuts cycling on a pressure-switch system, and not to use its accumulators with variable-speed pumps.
