Specifications
- Supply voltage
- 9-32V DC
The Hella NaviLED is a matched pair of port and starboard navigation lamps with a 2 NM visible distance and a colored lens. The two lamps together draw under 2 watts, and they run on 9-32V DC. The lamps are LED, with no bulbs to replace, and each is a fully sealed unit with IP 67 certification. Hella says they use under 10% of the power of a bulb lamp.
Our take
Two lamps drawing under 2 watts combined is the number to note on this Hella pair, and the 9-32V DC input is meant to keep them lit through voltage swings and low battery. Fully sealed IP 67 units also mean no bulb to change.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
