The Hella NaviLED 360 Compact is a white all round LED lamp with a sealed UV and impact resistant housing. It is rated for 2 nautical miles on yachts and powerboats and uses less than 1W. It accepts 9 to 33V DC and comes with 500mm of twin core cable attached. The lamp is IP 67 sealed, weighs 90g with its cable, and carries USCG, ABYC C-5, ABYC A-16 and Wheelmark approvals.
Our take
Multivolt electronics accept 9-33V DC with reverse polarity and spike protection, and the maker says the lamp keeps lighting under low battery voltages. At under 1W and IP 67 sealed, it draws very little power and is sealed against water.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
