Our take
Rated IP 67 and completely sealed, the lamp keeps water out of its LED electronics, and the housing is UV and impact resistant plastic. It consumes under 1W across a 9-33V DC supply, so it is gentle on the battery.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
