The Hella Marine NaviLED 360 Compact is a single LED all round white navigation lamp on an 8 inch fold down pole with a white base. It is rated for 2nm visibility and approved to COLREG, USCG, ABYC-16, RCD and WHEELMARK. It draws under 1W and accepts 9 to 33V DC, so it works on 12V and 24V boats. The lamp is sealed to IP67 and made from Swiss Grilamid, which resists UV, impact and chemicals. Hella backs it with a 5-year warranty.
Our take
The sub-1W draw of this all round lamp means leaving it on all night at anchor costs a battery very little. The 9 to 33V Multivolt range also lets the same lamp go on a 12V or 24V boat without changing parts.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
