The Hella NaviLED 360 All-Round Fold Down is a black LED light on a 40" fold down mount, with 2 NM visibility. It draws less than 1W and runs on 9-33V DC, and it comes pre-wired with 1.5m of twin core marine cable. The lamp is completely sealed to IP67, and the electronics are protected against reverse polarity to -500 volts. The series meets COLREG, USCG, ABYC-16, RCD and WHEELMARK requirements.
Our take
Reverse polarity protection to -500 volts means swapped wires at hookup should not destroy the lamp, and the IP67 seal keeps water out of the housing. At under 1W it also asks very little of the battery while you swing at anchor.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
