This is Hella's NaviLED 360 all-round light in the fold-down pole version, 24 inches tall and white. It is visible for 2 NM and is approved to COLREG, USCG, ABYC-16, RCD and WHEELMARK. It accepts anything from 9 to 33 volts DC and draws under 1 W, a light load on the battery. The lamp is sealed to IP67 and arrives pre-wired with 1.5 m of twin core marine cable.
Our take
Under 1 W of draw means an all-round light left burning all night puts only a tiny load on the battery, and the IP67 seal covers the wet conditions at the top of a pole. The 9 to 33 V DC input range adds some tolerance for supply voltage.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
