Hella's NaviLED 360 is a pole-mounted, fold-down all-round navigation light, 20 inches tall and finished in black. It is rated for 2 NM visibility and is completely sealed to IP67. It runs on 9-33V DC, draws under 1W and comes pre-wired with 1.5m of twin core marine cable. Reverse polarity is protected to -500 volts, and the maker lists COLREG, USCG, ABYC-16, RCD and WHEELMARK approvals.
Our take
Drawing under 1W, this all-round lamp puts very little load on the battery when left lit, and the IP67 seal keeps the electronics closed off from spray and rain. Its 2 NM rating is the figure to check against your vessel's needs.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
