The Hella Model 2010 is a compact all-round navigation light in black with an 8 inch fold-down mount. It gives 2 NM visibility and takes a 12V/10W festoon bulb, which is included. It is listed for sail and power boats up to 65.6 ft. Hella states it meets IMO COLREG 1972, RINA (I), ABYC A-16 and USCG requirements, and with proper mounting it can serve as an anchor light.
Our take
The 8 inch fold-down mount on the Hella Model 2010 lets the all-round light be laid down when it is not in use, and you get 2 NM visibility from it. It meets ABYC A-16 and USCG requirements, and with proper mounting it works as an anchor light.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
