This Garmin pack centres on a single GMI 40 marine instrument with a 4.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen, paired with an Airmar DST820 52mm thru-hull transducer that reads depth, speed and water temperature. It joins NMEA 2000 and Garmin BlueNet networks. The kit adds a wired gWind sensor, a GND 10 black box bridge and a 25 m mast cable, plus NMEA 2000 cabling for the single display.

Our take

The pack pairs one GMI 40 with an Airmar DST820 52mm smart transducer that covers depth, speed and water temperature, so a single sensor supplies three readings. As the single-display version, any second screen would have to come from elsewhere.

From our buying guide

A networked instrument display shows what its sensors put on the network. B&G says its Triton2 shows no reading for any data type missing from the network.

Check before you buy:

  • The sensors for the readings you want are on your network.
  • Your older gear can reach it, since gear that speaks NMEA 0183 may need a gateway or converter.
  • You have the rest if you want to steer from it. B&G says steering from a Triton2 also needs a separate keypad, an autopilot computer and a drive unit.
