The ECHOMAP Ultra 2 106sv is a 10 inch touchscreen chartplotter built around fishing. It has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, multi-band GPS and built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping with a one-year subscription for daily updates. The LiveScope Plus bundle includes the LVS34 transducer and GLS10 sonar module. A GT56 transducer supplies CHIRP traditional sonar along with ClearVü and SideVü scanning. It also connects to NMEA 2000 devices such as autopilots and heading sensors, and runs on 9 to 18V DC.
Our take
The 1280 x 800 pixel, 10 inch touchscreen gives you a lot of room for split views of chart and sonar on a helm. LiveScope only pairs one-to-one wirelessly, so a second ECHOMAP on board cannot mirror that feed.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
