The SaniPottie 964 MSD is a portable toilet in platinum with a 2.5 gallon holding tank and hold-down brackets. It flushes by hand with a bellows pump, drawing on a 2.3 gallon flush water tank. The MSD version has a molded-in 1-1/2 in hose port, so it can be pumped out dockside, plus a rear drain opening for carrying the tank off. It measures 12-1/2 in high by 14-1/2 wide by 16-1/2 deep.
Our take
The molded-in 1-1/2 in hose port on the 964 MSD lets you pump out at the dock without moving the toilet. The tank has no level indicator, so you will need another way to judge how full the 2.5 gallons is.
From our buying guide
A vessel with installed toilet facilities must have an operable marine sanitation device that is labeled or certified. EPA says untreated sewage may not be discharged within three miles from shore, and in a No Discharge Zone treated sewage may not be either.
Check before you buy:
- You have what it needs, since heads may call for 12-volt power, through-hulls and seacocks, or a separate vacuum source.
- It fits the compartment, since Jabsco says an electric toilet needs more space at the rear than a manual one.
- If it could sit below the waterline, you'll fit a vented loop as the maker specifies, since Jabsco warns the vent, not the loop, is what stops the siphon.
