A 7x50 Porro prism binocular built for the water, in blue. The body is sealed airtight and watertight, rated waterproof and fogproof, and it floats if it goes over the side. Eye relief is 18 mm with a 7.1 mm exit pupil, and the field of view is 380 ft at 1000 yds. Focus is by individual eyepiece, with a close focus of 25 ft. A rubber armour coating gives grip when wet. There is no built-in compass, and it weighs 36 oz.
Our take
The sealed body that floats if dropped overboard means a slip over the side need not lose them. Focus is individual per eyepiece, so each one is set separately, and with no built-in compass you will need a separate one for bearings.

Steiner calls 7x the marine standard. Higher magnification narrows the field of view and makes the image more sensitive to hand shake.
