The Bushnell A5 is the top model of the maker's A-Series, a 10x42 binocular in black with an IPX7 waterproof rating. It uses 42 mm objectives and dielectric and phase-coated prisms for colour and contrast, plus EXO Barrier lens protection. The soft wave-patterned rubber armour gives a secure hold when conditions are wet, and the maker backs the binocular with its Lifetime Warranty.
Our take
The 42 mm objectives gather more light, and the phase-coated prisms are there for colour and contrast. Add an IPX7 waterproof rating and a rubber grip meant for wet conditions, and you have a pair built to be handled on deck.
