The B&G Zeus 3S 9 is a 9-inch sailing chartplotter with a touchscreen, a rotary dial and a keypad. It has built-in Wi-Fi for phones, tablets and hotspots, and its sailing functions include SailSteer, Start Line and Laylines. It works with Navionics, C-Map and Lowrance charts. No transducer is included with the display.
Our take
The Zeus 3S 9 connects to H5000, HALO radar, autopilot, ForwardScan and NMEA 2000 and 0183 networks, so it can sit at the centre of a sailing system. No transducer is included, so sonar would need one bought separately.
From our buying guide
What's in the box depends on the part number: Raymarine sells one screen display only, with charts, with a transducer, or with both. Not every chart card fits every plotter, either.
Check before you buy:
- The part number includes the charts and transducer you expect.
- It reads the charts you want, and you know how long their updates last, since many come with a one-year subscription.
- A touchscreen suits your helm, since Raymarine warns that prolonged rain or water wash can cause false touches.
