This is an Attwood LightArmor surface mount navigation light with a green LED and an oval housing, the starboard colour. It mounts vertically and carries a 2 NM Coast Guard certification for boats up to 65 ft. The LED is rated for more than 50,000 hours and the light has an IP67 rating. Colour-coded cores are meant to simplify wiring, and the light meets EN/ISO 19009:2015.
Our take
A rated LED life of 50,000+ hours means there is no filament bulb to swap on this green starboard light. Its 2 NM Coast Guard certification is stated for boats up to 65 ft, so check your own length against that figure.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
