The round vertical-mount housing with a red LED is what sets this light's fitting apart, and the maker lists it for boats up to 65 ft (20m). Its IP Rating 67 is the stated water resistance for a light mounted on a vertical surface.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
