This is Attwood's 12 inch all-round white light for anchor or masthead duty. It gives 360 degree illumination with a 3-mile certified range, and it carries USCG certification for fresh and salt water on boats up to 65.6 feet (20 m). The lens is a sealed one-piece unit and the wiring is concealed at the base. It takes two festoon-style 8-watt lamps, has an aluminum pole on a black composite base, and comes with a rail mount adapter. The pole collapses rather than breaking if it gets hit.
Our take
The collapsing aluminum pole is the practical feature here: a light this tall on a rail or deck gets bumped by sheets, fenders and crew, and one that folds instead of snapping stays serviceable. The 3-mile range and 65.6 ft rating cover a wide spread of boat sizes.
