This is a 4 foot length of 1/4 inch hot dip galvanized lead chain from Attwood, supplied with 2 shackles. It has a welded, oversized link at each end for attaching to the anchor. Lead chain is meant for penetrating anchors. It weighs down the anchor shank to keep the anchor flat, and it also protects the line from chafing on sharp rocks.
