This Attwood bi-color combination sidelight has a 304 stainless steel housing with 7 inch wire leads. The lens is sealed with rubber gaskets to help keep corrosion out of the inside. It measures 2-1/4 inches wide, 2-1/2 long and 1-1/2 high. It takes the 12V, 7.5W festoon bulb that comes with it, and it is USCG certified. Corrosion resistance is the stated aim of both the housing and the seals.
Our take
The 304 stainless housing and gasketed lens seals on the 66318-7 are both aimed at keeping corrosion out, and the 7 inch wire leads come straight off the housing. At 2-1/4 by 2-1/2 inches it is a compact fixture.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
