This is a Series 22 all-round navigation light from Aqua Signal, a 4 inch pedestal unit that mounts on deck. The housing is black polycarbonate with a clear lens, and the optic is anti-glare. It plugs into a base, and the maker offers four base options. The swivel head tilts up to 15° so it can sit on an angled base. It is intended for power boats up to 12 m (39 ft) and is listed as meeting ABYC A-23.
Our take
The swivel head tilts up to 15°, so this plug-in all-round light can sit on an angled base and still point straight up. With four base options and a rating for power boats up to 12 m, it gives you room to match the light to the mounting spot.
From our buying guide
The lights a boat must show depend on its length and how it's being driven. A sailboat under power is a power-driven vessel and shows power-driven lights.
Check before you buy:
- The label gives its visibility in nautical miles, and that range meets the minimum for your boat's length.
- The maker rates it for boats of your length.
- A replacement LED is certified with the fixture it's going into, since the Coast Guard warns that replacement lighting may not meet the rules.
