Steiner Navigator 7x50c Marine Binoculars
- Brand:
- Steiner
- Part no:
- 2343
Steiner's current Navigator 7x50 with a compass (item 2343): an integrated, fluid-dampened analog compass that can be illuminated; Steiner's spec table lists a CR 1225 battery and doesn't say whether one is included. Steiner rates it water-pressure-proof to 5 m, nitrogen-filled against internal fogging, with a 7.14 mm exit pupil, and says its Auto-Focus, once set, stays sharp from 20 m to infinity. It comes with a floating strap; Steiner makes no claim that the body floats.
Our take
Good fit for a sailor who wants one pair that handles spray, a dunking and a quick bearing. Steiner rates it submersible to 5 m and nitrogen filled against fogging, and the compass is lit. Skip it if you want lighter binoculars at 30 oz. Main limit: the compass needs a CR 1225 battery, and the notes don't say one is included. Only the strap floats, not the binoculars.
