Raritan PHII Manual Toilet, Household Bowl
- Brand:
- Raritan
- Part no:
- PHHBII
Raritan's manually operated, double-action piston toilet with the household-size bowl (PHHBII), which Raritan says is still in production. If it sits at or below the waterline at greatest heel, Raritan requires vented loops in the discharge line and between the intake pump and the bowl, with every hose connection double-clamped. Its PHII manual names the PHRKIIU overhaul kit (its FAQ gives PHRKIIC for units from June 1992 on), and says to lubricate the piston rod every spring and fall, or more often with frequent use.
Our take
Buy this if you want a household-size bowl and a head that needs no electricity. Raritan says a quarter turn of the inlet knob pumps the bowl dry with no added water, and the piston shaft seal is a replaceable cartridge, with a universal PHRKIIU kit covering PH and PHII heads. Check the head's age first, since some kit parts are marked Pre 1992. Confirm fit in a tight space, and note the warranty is one year. For a compact bowl or 12V/24V, look elsewhere.
