Racor's spin-on gasoline filter/water separator with an aluminum bowl: 98% at 10 micron, 60 gph and 1/4 in-18 NPTF ports, with UL certification, which the plastic-bowl 320R-RAC-01 lacks. Racor says gasoline filters in an enclosed location should use a metal bowl, and that heaters and water probes must not be used in gasoline systems. Parker's datasheet lists three compatible elements, S3227 and S3228TUL (10 micron) and S3228SUL (2 micron), without saying which keeps the UL certification, so ask Racor before choosing a spare.
Our take
This suits a gasoline boat where you want a metal-bowl filter with a 10 micron element and flow up to 60 GPH. It is not for diesel, since it is rated for gasoline only. It stands 9.38 inches tall, so measure tight engine spaces first. Confirm with Racor before fitting it to an inboard engine, since this code may be meant for outboards.
