Lewmar's Titan locking handle: composite, single grip, and it floats. Lewmar frames a lock as security against the flexibility of a traditional design. Eight inches grinds faster; Harken says it gives 20% less power than a 10-inch and suits smaller boats and light air. Either way, take it out of the socket when you are not winding — Lewmar's own manual says so.
Our take
Buy this if you want a spare or primary 8 inch winch handle that floats if it goes over the side and locks into the winch. It is a single grip design in composite, so it is not the choice if you want a double grip or a metal build.
