A single-speed self-tailer: spring-loaded jaws on top hold the tail, and Lewmar rates them for 8–12 mm rope. Check the bolt pattern before you order. Lewmar fixes the 15ST with five M6 bolts on a 94 mm circle, on the same template as its Ocean 14 and 16; Harken's 15STA uses a 100 mm circle.
Our take
This suits a small boat with halyards and sheets in the 8 to 12 mm range, and an owner who wants to service the winch without tools. The 7-year warranty helps too. Skip it for a larger yacht or heavy loads: it has one speed, a 570 kg limit, and no electric or hydraulic option at this size.
