Kidde's single-use marine extinguisher (MAR10), UL rated 10-B:C, which Kidde says is USCG approved with its UL-approved strap bracket (322057), included. A 10-B holds more agent than a 5-B but, the Coast Guard says, still counts as only one 5-B; one 20-B may be substituted for two. Disposable, so the Coast Guard's 12-year limit from the date of manufacture applies.
Our take
Buy this if you want one simple extinguisher for a small boat's Class B and C fires. It carries a 10-B:C rating, and the maker says it is USCG approved when mounted in the supplied plastic strap bracket, so keep that bracket. It is single-use: plan to replace it by December 31 of its 12th year, and the maker still wants annual external checks. Skip it if you need a fixed system or cover for a large space.
