Johnson Pump Ultima Combo 1000 Bilge Pump

Brand:
Johnson Pump
Part no:
07903-00

Johnson Pump's automatic submersible bilge pump (07903-00), rated at 1,000 GPH straight and 800 GPH at 3 ft of head, both at 13.6 V. Johnson lists a 3.2 A draw on a 5 A fuse, a 3/4 in hose connection and a removable check valve. Johnson says bilge pumps are for standing water, not damage control, and may not keep up with storms or leaks from damage.

Our take

This suits a small to mid-size boat that wants an automatic 12 V bilge pump without a fussy float. The maker lists 3.2 A on a 5 A fuse and an electronic switch with no moving parts, so there is nothing to snag. The limit is flow: 1000 GPH becomes 800 GPH at 3 ft of head, and the switch only starts at about 2 in of water. Do not rely on it against a serious leak: Johnson says bilge pumps are for standing water, not damage control.
