A compact fixed-mount VHF radio from Icom with a built-in GPS receiver, in white. The body measures 156.5 x 66.5 x 110.1 mm, and the output settings are 25W and 1W. It has built-in Class D DSC and is rated IPX7 for 1m of water over 30 minutes. The GPS supplies location, bearing and speed, and that position can go into DSC calls.
Our take
The built-in GPS is what lets the Class D DSC carry your position, since the acquired position can be used for DSC calls. The IPX7 rating covers 1m of water for 30 minutes, and the compact 156.5 mm wide body can be installed in limited space.
