The Icom IC-M510 is a fixed-mount VHF marine radio with Class-D DSC and Wi-Fi. It puts out 25 W or 1 W, and the body is only 53.6 mm (2.1 in) deep, with an IP68 rating for 1 m of water for 60 minutes. The radio has a built-in GNSS receiver, or you can use the optional UX-241 antenna. Up to three smart devices can act as a wireless microphone over the Wi-Fi link, and the navigation function takes up to 100 waypoints. Some versions include an AIS receiver and some do not.
Our take
The 53.6 mm (2.1 in) depth is the figure to check against the space behind your panel. Some versions leave out the AIS receiver, so confirm which version you have before counting on the AIS screen.
