The Icom IC-M330 is a compact VHF radio with built-in Class D DSC, which keeps watch on Channel 70 even while you listen to another channel. This is the version without a GPS receiver; position comes from an external GPS or navigator over the NMEA interface. Transmit power is 25 W or 1 W. The radio is rated IPX7, submersible to 1 m for 30 minutes, and AquaQuake stops a water-logged speaker from degrading the audio. A weather channel with weather alert is included.
Our take
The IC-M330 carries no GPS receiver, only an NMEA input for an external GPS or navigator, so the position that goes out with a DSC call has to come from that connection. The IPX7 rating covers submersion to 1 m for 30 minutes.
