Hella's NaviLED TRIO (980650001): a 2 NM masthead tri-colour with a separate all-round white anchor light. Hella says it may be carried only by a sailing vessel under 20 m, never shown under power, and must be switched so one position shows the tri-colour and another the anchor light alone, on a 3 A maximum fuse. Hella's current sheet gives 9-33 V DC, the early version 8-28 V, so check the label; it says to replace the lamp after a maximum of 12 years' use on recreational boats.
Our take
Buy this if you sail a boat under 65 ft and want a sealed, low-maintenance tri-colour and anchor light for the masthead. The IP67 housing suits that exposed spot, and the 9 to 33 V DC input means one unit fits 12 V and 24 V boats. Skip it for a power boat, since it is certified for sailboats only. Its main limit is the short 400 mm pigtail, so plan on a junction box or extension.
